What is WaterMark accreditation and why is it important?
The WaterMark Certification Scheme has regulated the use of plumbing and drainage products in Australia since 1988, with only authorised products deemed legally fit for use in plumbing and drainage installations. Until recently, relining products sat outside of the WaterMark scheme, with no accreditation required or regulating authority managing the materials or the manner in which they are utilised in Australia.
As of November 2018, it has been a legal requirement for pipe reliners to use WaterMark approved products, installed as per the Plumbing Standard of Australia AS3500. Products and techniques that sit outside of these guidelines are now deemed unsuitable for use within Australia.

However, as the consumer, you must be aware that the scheme is enforced by the state and territory plumbing administrations at the point of installation, not sale. Therefore products without WaterMark certification can be purchased openly, without any penalty to the supplier. This makes it imperative that you ask your plumber or reliner to ensure the products they’re using are certified.

How does pipe relining work?
Think of relining as feeding an inner tube into the current pipe, then hardening and sealing that tube until it’s stronger than any clay, terracotta, or plastic pipe.
Rather than excavating and replacing the damaged pipe, causing mess and disruption to your property (and your bank balance) – we reline from the surface.

The process

- Prepare – We take time to prepare above and below ground to ensure we cause minimal disturbance by establishing safe work zones and diverting any plumbing systems where possible, avoiding service disruptions.
- Reline – Only then do we cure and install our impenetrable EPOXY resin using state-of-the-art relining techniques that allow us to accurately pinpoint the damaged section of the pipe, drain or sewer and navigate any bends or junctions.
