Our Commitment to Pipe Relining Greener
At Sydney Relining, we always aim to be the leaders in everything we do, that’s why we were one of the first Pipe Relining providers in Australia. We’re focused on taking practical steps to help further reduce our impact. We’re excited to share our carbon offset journey with you. It’s our way of showing our dedication to greener thinking and making tomorrow even better.
A study published in the Journal of Cleaner Production in 2018, compared the life cycle greenhouse gas emissions associated with different plumbing materials and methods, including copper piping, PVC piping, and pipe relining. The researchers found that pipe relining had significantly lower emissions compared to traditional plumbing methods, with a carbon footprint that was 50-80% lower.
We always put our customer’s interests first and we knew that limiting our carbon footprint was important.
In 2023 we partnered with Evertreen. Our goal is to plant over 1,000 trees every year; our first step to being a net zero-emissions business. Together we are aiming to help restore forests, create habitat for biodiversity, and make a positive impact.
Recent studies have shown that the Pipe Relining technologies we use offer reductions in carbon emissions of between 50% to 80% when compared to traditional plumbing involving excavation.

How Sydney Relining Measures Our Impact
Sydney Relining engaged ESG Capital Pty Ltd (‘ESG Capital’) to estimate the total emissions of the Sydney Relining Pipe Relining service by considering typical vehicle type, fuel efficiency, and average distance traveled per job. To make sure we cover the emissions, we’ve selected to offset more than we’ll emit.
It’s part of our commitment to greener thinking for a better tomorrow.
