The ‘Trust Us’ Test
Trust can be a slippery term, especially in the world of trades and services. As a customer, whether having your drains relined or schmick new concrete driveway being poured, you inevitably need to trust your chosen tradesmen to deliver. After all, you sure as hell don’t know how to reline pipes that are buried underground and the only experience you have with concrete was signing your initials on the curbside when you were in year 7 (yes, it is probably still there).
So how do you know which vendors you can and can’t trust? Is it their UTE, their footy team, or the fact they led with ‘we do jobs like this one all the time, trust us’. Unfortunately, many decisions are based on a combination of the above and a ‘feeling’ that they can do the job.
Now, we’re not saying that you’re not a great judge of character, but when you’re spending your hard-earned cash, shouldn’t you be a little more informed? Well, yes. So, here are our tips on how to test the ‘trust us’ tradies.
Educate
You don’t have to be able to do the job, but it never hurts to have a general overview of what work you need to be completed, rather than just the end result you’re looking to achieve. You can do this by searching industry blogs, videos and chatting to your friends; invariably someone you know will have similar work done.
Question
Once you have a base level of knowledge, you can ask questions more confidently. Any good tradesman or service provider will welcome questions, whether technical or otherwise. So ask away, the good ones will be happy to chat and the devil is in the details.
Documentation
Don’t settle for a handshake quote and a vague description of what you’re paying for. You shouldn’t authorize any work to be completed without a written quote that outlines the scope of work to be completed and the associated cost. If anything is unclear, go back to step two and repeat.
The vast majority of tradesmen & women are good, honest service providers. But the small percentage that isn’t can really be a blight on our industry. So take note of the above and look after your $’s.
The Advantages of Pipe Relining for Efficient Pipe Repairs
Pipe relining is a modern, trenchless method for repairing damaged or leaking pipes without the need for invasive excavation. This innovative technique involves inserting a flexible, resin-coated liner into the affected pipe, which is then inflated and cured to form a new, durable pipe within the existing one. The result is a seamless and corrosion-resistant pipe that not only restores the structural integrity of your plumbing system but also improves flow efficiency. By choosing Pipe Relining, you can extend the lifespan of your pipes, prevent future damage, and minimise the risk of costly repairs down the line.
Embracing Pipe Relining as a preferred solution for pipe repairs offers several benefits, including reduced costs, minimal disruptions, and enhanced environmental sustainability. Since there’s no need for large-scale digging, Pipe Relining helps you save up to 50% in repair expenses compared to traditional methods, while also reducing the time and resources required for the job. Furthermore, the trenchless nature of Pipe Relining significantly lessens the impact on your property and the surrounding environment, preserving your garden, landscaping, and infrastructure. By opting for Pipe Relining, you’re investing in a long-lasting, efficient, and eco-friendly solution for maintaining the health of your plumbing system.
